CFE Tier One Therapist: Recognition for effectiveness as a therapist granted to less than 1% of the 580 psychologists in the Optum Health Health Insurance network located within a 5-mile radius of midtown Manhattan by Optum Health's "Campaign For Excellence." Clinical Experience
Treatment: Created SFT, an integrated SELF-Focused psychotherapy (see SFT). More than 25 years of experience working with adults and adolescents of varied genders and sexual orientations having a broad range of problems including those suffering from anxiety and depression, and individuals with self esteem deficits and relationship difficulties. Assessment: Worked over one year in a psychiatric evaluation center with responsibility for evaluating, diagnosing and triaging walk-in and scheduled patients. Performed psychiatric evaluations of social security disabilty claimants for over one year. Over 25 years experience in the assessment and diagnosis of clients in psychotherapeutic centers.
Consultation: Consulted by other psychologists on how to avoid treatment failure
Supervision: Supervised clinical psychology graduate students in treating their patients.
Internship: Interned at prestigious Western Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, nationally renowned psychiatric hospital and research center. Only 4 interns selected each year. Worked with inpatient populations as well as outpatients, adolescents, children and adults, and was afforded opportunity of prescribing medications.
Commitment to Social Justice:
NOW Activism Activist and leadership participation since 1975; Served as President of NOW-NYC during the 2004 presidential elections, organized CODE RED: STOP THE BUSH AGENDA, the largest demonstration ever held by the chapter and the only one during that week of the Republican National Convention to be held in the East Meadow of Central Park; initiated efforts, now completed, to eliminate the statute of limitations on the crime of rape; recruited young feminist activists who are today part of the leadership of NOW and hold elected office in their state government; Served as State Officer and Executive Committee Member of PA NOW; organized the First ERA Walkathon in Pittsburgh to raise money for NOW's efforts to ratify and extend the deadline for the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment)
